Want to get Australian election results without the hype? Check the AEC website, aec.gov.au. Labor was leading after all the polling place results were counted, but then now that absentee and postal votes are being counted, the Coalition is now leading, at 72 seats compared to 71 seats for Labor! Even as I double check, before starting to write this post the results were at 72 seats for the Coalition with 2 seats undetermined, and now they are at 74 seats, with no seats undetermined! 75 seats are required to win parliament for a majority party, so this means that there is currently a hung parliament! We may need to wait 13 days from the election for all postal votes to be counted until an election results can be declared.
